Outta Commission

My Internet is down. I'm stealing this from a neighbor and I feel guilty so I won't be on long. But I wanted to let you all know that I wish I were reading your blogs. Instead, I am playing chess (on the computer) and reading. Crazy! Oh well. Ta Ta for now!

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Here's to Cinco de Mayo! Let's all lift a glass in celebration of . . . of . . . ummm.........yeah, of something! I will be making tacos tonight as part of my festivities. I will speak in Spanish - ¿Dónde está la biblioteca? - because I'm totally fluent! Yes, fluent. I took one whole year of it in the 8th grade! I think this qualifies me to be the master of ceremonies for any Cinco de Mayo parade. Hey - if you're having a party and need a MC, I'd be happy to come. (Are you providing the drinks?!?!?!)

Haiku Friday - Getting Personal with Aunt Flo

Haiku Friday

I gotta question.
It is pretty personal.
But I'm still asking!

It's about, um, stuff.
And by "stuff" I mean "down there".
Yeah, feminine stuff.

Hey, all you mommies!
Did your monthly period
Change after baby?

Lighter? Heavier?
Longer or shorter maybe?
Cramps worse than ever?!?!

This is not my first
cycle since having the babe.
But it is diff'rent.

Certainly diff'rent
than before I got pregnant.
Did yours change also????

Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Hubby has been home sick (just a common cold) since Thursday. Yes, I feel bad for him. Yes, I have cared for him. I made him soup for goodness' sake! But now I'm ready for him to go back to work. He is disrupting my mojo. I have my normal routine and he is throwing a wrench in it! I can't seem to get things done when I normally do. ARGH! I know I haven't written a real post in days, but this is all I have time for right now.

Here's to wishing my husband a speedy recovery!

Would you like to participate or find out more about Self Portrait Saturdays? Click here!

I do try to keep this blog anonymous and so when Shannymar came up with this idea, I wasn't sure how to participate. But I guess I can post pictures of innocuous things. Like my toes! But I've already done that. Hmmmm. . . what else can I take a picture of?!?! I know. My butt! Erm. . . I did that too. Huh, well. I guess I won't post a picture today. But you should! And I'll give it some more thought and maybe I'll come up with something for next Saturday!

Haiku Friday - Baby #2

Haiku Friday

You will not believe
What happened to me last night.
Baby number 2!!!

No nine months to wait.
It happened in just one day,
A new little one.

Well, actually
He's not really that little.
He's a full grown man!!!

Hubby came home sick.
Now I have to care for him;
He is such a wuss!

-----------------------
First - NO I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER BABY!!!

Just comparing my loving, wonderful, amazing husband to an infant. He can be such a baby when he is sick. Ugh, but I probably should take care of him since he took care of me last week. Fair's fair, I guess.

Happy Earth Day

In celebration of this day, I think we should all go be outside! Plant a tree, mow the lawn, pick up trash. Ummm. . . that all sounds like hard work. Maybe I'll just wear green or something.

Actually I have been trying to be more eco-friendly since the baby was born. I know I am contributing to the growing landfills with all the diapers I go through, so I want to try to do something to help as well. I have taken to using reusable bags when I go shopping. I have some pretty bags that I take - you can buy them at almost any grocery store or get them online. It's a really simple thing to do, but it could really help the environment. Or if I forget my bags, I make sure to recycle the plastic ones I get.

Hey, check out this cool new widget in my side bar. It give you an eco-tip everyday! Yippee! (It's for those of us who aren't sure what we can do to help!)

The Vacuum vs. The Cat

I am feeling a bit better, taking some allergy meds. But now Baby Girl is sniffling and coughing. I don't think she has a cold. I bet it allergies too which really doesn't make it any better. Her little nose is always running; she has a persistent cough. All of this is accompanied by a lot of nose and eye rubbing (no fever!). I'm sure she's allergic to El Gato (our cat), but what can I do????? I'm not getting rid of my cat. Nope, not gonna do it!

Well, what I am hoping to do is get a new vacuum cleaner. I am so NOT a domestic goddess. I hate to do the dishes, the laundry, the . . . well, any housework. But now as a stay-at-home mom, these responsibilities fall to me to a much greater degree than when I worked. (And I think that is only fair.) Our vacuum cleaner is a hand-me-down from my MIL. It's gotta be 8 or 9 years old. Don't you think they have developed better technology in that time? They can rebuild it - better, stronger, faster! Well, at least better. Right? Well, I want a great vacuum, AND I don't want to spend the kiddo's college saving on it. So what do I get? Any suggestions????

Haiku Friday - When I'm Sick

Haiku Friday

My hubby is great!
I know I've said it before,
But I must repeat.

He fixes me soup,
Covers me with the blanket,
Rubs on my sore neck.

When I'm feeling sick,
I can always count on him
To take care of me.

--------------------------------

I've been feeling a bit icky the last couple of days. TH has been wonderful. He's taken care of dinner, put the baby to bed, picked up the house. I've soaked in the tub almost every night and gone to bed early. I really am so lucky!

Tax Relief Swap - I Know You Want My Package

Ugh, after a flurry of filing, my taxes are done. There is no better feeling. Well, except for getting a package! I was so excited when I got home yesterday to find my gift waiting for me at my door. It was from the always wonderful Toni! I quickly brought it inside.

And opened it!

What could be in that black bag?!?!

(front)

(back)

Yummy bath/shower gels!

Hmmm. . . What to do with them?!

I know! Fill up the tub!

Keep going!

Ahhhhh . . . . . Thanks Toni!!!!

Thanks also to DC Days and Anglophile Football Fanatic for coming up with the Tax Relief Swap!

Hello Down There

I always knew some day I would have to give Baby Girl "The Talk." I knew I would have to discuss her "changing body", hair in new places, and boys. Ugh, boys. But I just didn't think it would be so soon. I thought I had, well, about another 12 years or so. Heck, she's only 9 months old!

But as it turns out, my sweet little angel has already discovered her woohoo! She has taken to touching her private parts whenever she gets the chance. Ever single time her diaper comes off. (So that's at least five or six times a day!) Well, I said touching, but really it's more like grabbing. Scratching, in fact! With those tiny razors she claims are fingernails. OUCH!

So some kids pull pennies out of their vajayjays, mine just claws at it. But I gotta theory that it's just a phase. I just hope it doesn't last too long!
